ADOPTION PROCESS
We take great pride to match the right animal into the right home. Therefore we use the
following steps; these steps may be modified to allow for geographical and scheduling
variables. Furthermore all dogs are spay/neuter, have had all their shots, been dewormed
and have been tested for heartworms before adoption.
1) Interested parties must submit a completed and signed application(all lines have to be
filled in or your application will not be considered) Your application is received and reviewed,
upon application approval, we will contact you with any additional questions and to discuss
the animal you want. If we feel that the animal would not be a good match for your family we
will suggest another animal that is compatible. You must at this point put a $50.00(non
refundable) holding fee on the animal if you want a specific one which is deducted from the
final fee.
2) A home visit and play date is scheduled. This is an in person visit and everyone and
animals in your household must be present. We will observe how the animal and your family
interact. We will conduct a safety check of your home and will view every room and yard. This
visit is app 1-1 ½ hrs. The animal will return with us that day and you will receive a call within
24 hrs if approved to pick the animal up. We do not call if you are not Approved. You can
send an email and we will respond to that.
3) Adoption is finalized at rescue and you will take the animal home(you MUST have a
collar and leash to leave with any dog or crate).
4) There will be 4 home visits after the adoption, one of which will be unannounced.
5) We do not do same day adoptions unless you are per approved.
Please note that applications are reviewed as soon as possible. However this process does
not result in an immediate adoption. If you have submitted an application and are awaiting a
response; please contact us via email , to inquire about the status of your submitted
application. If you are refused, we do not say why, nor do we say who told us anything. We
do not always call you if your application is denied so be sure to send an email after 4 days
to check on it.
