OUR GOAL IS TO HELP STOP THE OVERPOPULATION OF DOGS BY
SPAY/NETUER
To help stop the cruelty of animals by doing home visits before and after adoptions. Doing vet checks before adoptions.
To help owners that want to keep thier pets we give them food and have at times, when funds allow to get vaccines.
We have a few select dogs that are trained as Mobility Service Dogs for people that have health problems and need help to get through the days. This promises these dogs a home forever.
We are currently looking for foster homes to keep dogs and pups. Foster homes are like angels as they allow us to help more animals and maybe save a few more lives.
We accept donated puppies up to 12 weeks old to train as mobility service dogs. If you have a litter of pups and want to donate them or one for this service to other people, then please by all means contact us.
We could not do any of this without the kindness and donations of all our
supporters and volunteers.

POPCORN NEEDS YOUR HELP
08/22/10 Popcorn was an rescue thru the humane society and was going to be euthanised due to demedectic mange. He was almost completely bald.
He was found wandering the streets and had been taken to Humane Society. They thought he may have been a puppy mill dog at one time.
When he first came to us he was terrified of humans and other dogs. He didnt know what kisses were and never had been loved on at all. We have worked alot with him and he has had an amazing turn around. .
He is always snuggling with a new one (doggie) that comes thru the door to make them feel at home. Even if they are only here for a short time (they go to their forever homes). He has a heart of gold.
I knew he was not feeling well last week when he would not let us touch him. He would squeal and snap at us. We thought he had injured his self at first by jumping off sofa. We gave him a couple of days to work the problem (soreness) out. On the 3rd morning he was still acting like something was still hurting him. We took him to our regular vet, She took xray and it showed a narrowing of the spine, she put him on meds.
That was on Wednesday. On Friday he seemed a little better. But by Saturday evening when I got home from work he was much worse. He was in his opened cage and he came out towards me to greet me and his back legs were dragging behind him. All I knew to do was cry. He crawled up to me as to say don't worry I will be o.k.
We immediatley called Betty(Frenzy Animal Rescue) and she told us to take him back in to the vet.
We took him to Noahs and they said it was neurological and he needed a cat scan. We then took him to Ivec in Beech Grove where they said if he did'nt have surgery he would be paralized from a spinal disease. Something small dogs are prone to. Surgery would have to be immediately done. There is an 85 to 95 percent cure rate with this surgery. Without surgery he will become paralized with virtually no chance of recovery.
After he has surgery It will be a long recovery. Popcorn is a handsome little chihuahua. We are not sure of his real age, but believe he is around 4-5 years old. That is very young for a chihuahua.
We are looking for someone to sponsor his surgery or enough people to donate to cover it.
The surgery will cost $4000.00 which is being done Sunday 8/23/10
08/23/10 Surgery went good. Popcorn had surgery this morning.
He had several disc ruptures and they were pressing against his spinal cord.
He also had hemoraging around the spinal cord.
He is in recovery now and will be reassessed again tomorrow (monday the 24rd) for any signs of neurological damage.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
You can sponsor him through IVEC, 5425 victory drive, indianapolis, in 46203---(317)782-4418
or by sending a check or money order to Po Box 194, New Palestine, In 46163.
We will provide a tax receipt
